Ilene Hamann (born June 9, 1984) is an actress and model from South Africa.

Early life

Ilene Hamann was born in Jeffreys Bay, where she lived until she moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where she has been living ever since. Ilene's mother is of Portuguese descent and her father is of Dutch descent. Before her debut in Pooja Bhatt's film Rog, and modeling, she had started her career with photography which had gotten the attention of many people, and she started getting offers for modeling. Ilene has been doing various modeling assignments for six years.

Ilene never thought of acting in Bollywood films, but was offered the role Maya Solomon in Rog when Pooja Bhatt and her father saw Ilene's picture in a magazine, making this Ilene 's first Bollywood assignment.

 Education

Ilene Hamann was educated at Nico Malan High School, and Matriculated with a B aggregate. After her matriculation, Ilene went to Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography,where she completed her first year in photography but had to give up her studies due to the amount of modeling work she was receiving.

Career

 Modelling

Ilene kicked her career off in 2003 by traveling off to India, Dubai, and Australia for prestigious modeling jobs. In South Africa Ilene was booked for sought after her painting advertisement job in such places as: Truworths,Foschini, and American Swiss. In India, Ilene's job highlights included for editorials for Elle and L'Officiel (including the much raved about cover). During her season's in Cape Town Ilene was the hottest model of the moment with many international clients booking her for amongst others including British designer Stewart Parvin's print advertising campaign, the bauknecht catalogue, the Stihl powertools, and various others. Ilene is currently represented by Faith Models in South Africa and managed internationally by Star Born Talent.

Films

Undoubtedly the biggest achievement for Ilene is being booked for the Bollywood movie of Rog. Ilene has also been the first South African model to be cast in such a leading role in such a movie.
